    Builder Overview

Shea Homes is a family-owned national home builder and part of J.F. Shea Co., whose history goes back to 1881. Shea builds in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Nevada, the Carolinas, Texas, Virginia and Washington, and it sells 55+ resort communities under its Trilogy brand. In Colorado it has communities in the Denver area and, now, Fort Collins-Loveland.

What They Build in Northern Colorado

Shea's Northern Colorado community is Trilogy Centerra in Loveland, the first Trilogy community in Colorado. It sits inside the Kinston neighborhood of the Centerra master plan and is planned for about 543 homesites. Shea lists 11 single-family floorplans from its Freedom Collection, about 1,430 to 3,090 square feet, single-level with loft options, with 2-4 bedrooms and 2-3 car garages. Homes are priced from $500,000 (October 2026), and the community is age-restricted to buyers 55 and older.

    The Club

Trilogy Centerra is planned around the Open Wellness + Social Club, with a casual restaurant and bar, a resort and lap pool, strength, recovery and movement studios, pickleball courts, event lawns and an on-site lifestyle team. Residents also have access to Kinston's trails, parks and The Hub.

    Reputation

Trilogy by Shea Homes has been named America's Most Trusted Active Adult Resort Builder by Lifestory Research for 14 consecutive years, most recently in its 2026 study.

From a buyer's agent's point of view, Shea is a large, process-driven builder, and Trilogy is a lifestyle product as much as a house. Compare the all-in monthly cost (mortgage, HOA, club fees and metro district taxes) against other 55+ and single-level options in Loveland and Windsor, not just the base price.

Because Trilogy Centerra hasn't opened yet, get the amenity and club timeline in writing, ask how homesite premiums are set, and find out which features are included versus options. Use your own lender quote to check any builder financing incentive, and plan on a pre-drywall and final inspection like any new home.

    Questions Worth Asking

When do sales and the club open, and what's included in the club?
What are the monthly HOA dues, and is there a club or initiation fee?
What does the metro district add to the property tax bill?
    How are homesite premiums priced?
What's standard versus an option on each plan?
What warranty do you provide, and who handles service after closing?
